Hello Fellow Casita Owners,
I have a 17 ft spirit delux that the previous owner put captains chairs in. Although the chairs are comfortable I am finding I want the side bed instead. Anyone want to trade chairs for the bench box seats? Or do you have a set of the boxes you would sell? I have not had any animals or smokers in my Casita. Thanks

thanks Harold. I may have to do the boxes in wood but I thought the fiberglass might be lighter weight.Hope someone has a set in the barn just waiting for me to come and get them. Grandjan

I would love to swap seats but can't get down your way for a while. We are heading to the Rockies in 10 days. Is it that easy to make he change? I haven't looked at my boxes yet.

My guess is the biggest change is to drill the appropriate holes through the floor of the Casita to secure the Captain's chair stands - and making sure you get them in the right spots. Second challenge is to cover the plumbing and electrical with something like the raceway.
Have fun both of you.

Are you aware that you actually have an FD, not an SD?
Have you considered buying an affordable SD and then putting your FD up for sale? You could probably break even and forego all of the hassles of reconstruction.

I could be wrong but I think I remember the provious owner telling me he put the captains chairs in himself so he could have more room . But I was in a state of high excitement and trying to learn so much in such a small amount of time It is very possible I misunderstood what he said. I was far from home and had never pulled a Casita trying to get all that he was saying ....... so any way I love all of the mods he did and want to keep all of them so that is why I am willing to do the trade .But I could change my mind and buy another Casita that is what I was going to do in the first place but then Diane and I did so much to this one. AND I love this one.... but I guess I COULD love another.... seems unfaithful though!!!

Jan, what mods did you and Diane do to your trailer since the Utah trip? It is always interesting to see the difference. Diane is so handy. My "new" Casita should be arriving tomorrow, so I am very excited to see it for the first time. Sure wish I could take it to Glacier.

the most important mod she did for me was to add the wheel under the pole that lifts the trailer onto the hitch this wheel allows me to move casita arround in my driveway. The previious owner put in a larger sink and a special heating element for the hot water and shelves in the closet these are things I would never know how to do. J.
