We're looking for a cover to fit the range in our 2003 17' SD. We ordered one from Casita, but had to return it because it does not fit the older style ranges. If I can find some pictures of what we need, I'll add them to this post later. Thanks.

Ok, I found a picture of the new style that we DON'T need:

Thanks to Harold, HERE is what we are looking for:

Any and all suggestions of where to find one of these old style range covers will be appreciated. Thanks,

Henry

I can't offer a cover, but I can offer a picture of the one on our '05, which is probably the same as the '03

I don't have on file a picture of it closed.

Henry and Debbie,
Are you looking for the cover to provide the splatter shield or just to cover the range and provide more counter space when the range isn't in use? I can't help with the former but if you just want to maximize your counter space, I suggest that you get a cutting board about the right size and put legs on it.

This picture will give you an idea of what we use - compliments of the previous owner.

Harold, thanks for the picture, THAT'S what we're looking for.

Reine, we want to use the cover both for counter space when not using the range, and for splatter control when we are. There is a great mod I saw here removing the chain and adding a latch to the hood to keep the cover open that I plan to do if I can find the old style cover.

The cover you need doesn't seem to be available from any of the big rv online stores (assuming you are looking for a suburban stove cover)
but ebay has a stainless steel cover that could be right? Mine has a homemade cover so just guessing from the pics here and there.

If you look closely at the picture in my post, you will notice that the controls on our cooktop are on the bed side. I don't know if this was standard on the 2000 or if the previous owner turned it around. Because the burners are closer to the sink, we don't have much problem with splatters. Besides, we do most of our cooking - and definitely anything that's going to splatter outside. I really like the cutting board cover because it IS a cutting board or it can be moved to the bed to use as extra space to sit things on while I'm cooking.

Everyone has to decide what works best for them. The other option I've see, which I'll probably do some day is to get one of the white acrylic cutting boards and put rubber feet on it so it will fit over the stove.
