The next gathering of the "Desert Eggs" group (and anyone else that is interested in joining us) will be Feb 24th, 25th & 26th at Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, Az. It has a large number of sites with water and electric and costs about $19 a night when we last went. The bathroom and showers are clean. The new upper camping area has water and electric but no bathrooms or showers yet. It is a very nice area but trees are still small and in summer it would be very hot. It is up on a little hill so you overlook the older part of the campground. You take exit 287 onto SR260 for Cottonwood off of I-17 and follow signs to Dead Horse in Cottonwood. We will only have a campfire on Friday night. Come and meet everyone and bring cheese, crackers, or whatever you want and something to drink. If everyone wants to we can have a pot luck on Saturday night or just eat at our own campers and join the group later for campfire. It is up for a "vote" It will be a relaxed weekend with no planned times or events. There is a lot to see in the area and Sedona is only about 1/2 hour away. Jerome is nearby and downtown Cottonwood is neat on Friday nights and Sat. with sometimes craft events, etc.
