vermilye February 12 Share February 12 I have started the 2026 Rally Map. Please let me know about any rallies not on the map. Thanks, Jon 2 Link to comment
Arizona Eileen February 12 Share February 12 Jon, Is it possible to let the Rally Calendar toll from one year into the next without specifying a year? The listings are by date anyway, so the list kinda forms itself. Also seems it would be less work for you. Eileen Link to comment

Eileen The NOGs change places every year and the dates are based on Thursday-Sunday, which means the actual dates change. For instance, Fall NOG in 2024 was held in South Beach State Park, outside Newport on Oct. 3-6, 2024. Fall NOG 2025 will be held in Waterloo County Park, outside Lebanon, Oregon on Oct. 2-5, 2025. One at the beach, the other east of I-5 in the Willamette Valley. Link to comment
Arizona Eileen February 12 Share February 12 I've maintained Google Maps and it's easy to keep it rolling. Old rallies can be removed and new ones added. That way the URL doesn't have to change either. Eileen Link to comment

It's not ever about the park where we're going, it's about where to find all the information. And that' the URL that changes. So, with a date change, a campground change and a URL change, there's not any reason to roll over to the next year. FIN Link to comment
vermilye February 12 Author Share February 12 It is actually easier for me to keep the map by year rather than rolling. A rolling version could easily confuse the year/dates. I'm going to stick with separate URLs. 1 Link to comment

FIN I think you're confusing the actual Google map of the U.S. (where all of the rallies are shown by location markers) with the description for each rally in the sidebar where the names, dates and links to each gathering reside. Expired events at the top of the sidebar are easy to remove after the rally happens, and new ones are easy to add to the bottom. I was once the keeper of a similar Google calendar, so I know it works. Anyway...just a suggestion. Eileen Link to comment
Donna D. February 13 Share February 13 I can see where you're trying to help Jon, truly. But by having people that are actually hosting an event contact him to have it put on the map, he knows all the info is accurate. Personally I really dislike not being able to trust what I'm reading. I won't know until the end of April where the Spring NOG is going to be held in 2026. I'd feel bad if anyone made arrangements of any kind to attend and the event wasn't where the map said it was going to be held. It's a moot point, he wants to keep the map as he's being doing. I'm really confused since the info will still be what Jon enters, and it will still be accurate. Nothing would overlap nor be incorrect, but I'm done trying to convince you. I see a new URL every year as a PITA, especially for me since I reference it in my materials. Eileen Link to comment
