what: opportunity for free campsite (boondock or hookups) on 42 private acres in beautiful athol, idaho, 4 miles from farragut state park, close to grocery, urgent care, gas stations, restaurants, silverwood theme park, couer d'alene, bayview, sandpoint

where: 42 wooded privately owned acres in athol, idaho, 20 min from couer d'alene

when: starts friday may 8, 2026. ends friday may 22, 2026. stay for a day or several.

why: we enjoy meeting new & old fiberglass camper owners. however, we welcome all types of rvs. camping is expensive in this area, although there are some nfs cgs available too for lower cost options. boondocking here with us is free although we'd accept a donation if you use our full hookup site

how: send me a pm with your arrival/departure dates & we'll provide details. we hosted 2 rvs last summer for a few days, both headed to canada for the season. had a ball entertaining them & exchanging tales of life on the road. decided to try it again this summer & open it up to the casita group

please note, this is a gathering & not a formal rally. activities are abundant here for your independent enjoyment & we're available in the evenings for socializing. we even have a fire ring for nightly campfires if desired. so if you're passing through, don't hesitate to contact us........safe travels, y'all

fyi: someone asked about farragut sp naval museum in athol, idaho. yes, it's open again after extensive renovations last year. it was a huge naval training center during ww2 because they wanted an interior location more protected from possible attack. they still do submarine experiments in nearby bayview, but it's closed to visitors

the museum highlights life for the naval recruits during that time frame & they still welcome pics of anyone who trained/ worked  there to add to their historical records. remnants of the buildings, including the hospital, are still visible, especially on the frisbee golf course.  an absolute must-see when in the couer d'alene/athol/northern idaho area

Hi Clairemr1,

I'll be traveling through your neck of the woods the week of May 10-16. But I don't at this time have exact dates . Does this work for you?

Looking forward to exploring this part of the country.

Thanks so much
