It is decided! Death Valley it will be! Feb.20,21,22, for the 2004 Winter Warm Up at Furnace Creek Campground. Furnace Creek Camp Ground is centrally located in in park to many of the parks beautiful and interesting attractions. The weather is generally warm in the day time and cool at night.

The Warm Up will be hosted by Maggi and Wes Rudy.

Make your reservation ASAP by calling 800-365-2267. A message will prompt you enter the first three letters of the park (DEA) You will then be transferred to a real live person! Just make sure to tell this person that you want a reservation at Furnace Creek Campground and for her to put in the "comments section" that you will be with the Fiberglass RV group. This way we will all be camping in the same area. (Have your NPS Passport number available at the time you make your reservation) Reservations can also be made on line at: Reservations.NPS.Gov.

For those who would prefer full hookups, reservations can be made at the Furnace Creek Ranch Resort and Camp Ground. They only have 12 rental sights available so if you would prefer hookups, call immediately. 760-786-1345 This resort is very close to where the majority of the group will be camping. We already had 5 couples make reservations.

Furnace Creek IS dry camping but I am confident we can all survive three days with out the wonder of electricity. There is so much to see and do in Death Valley. Be sure and visit deathvalley.com to see what recreation is available, sightseeing, etc.

So far the only group activities planned are a Saturday night potluck and the traditional Saturday afternoon wine and cheese party (if each person who wishes to participate would please bring a bottle of wine (or whatever you prefer, water, juice, etc.) and a plate of cheese and crackers to share, it would be appreciated). We will of course have a nightly bonfire. It would be nice if each person attending could bring just one bundle of wood for the campfire.

We know that this is not a three day weekend but Presidents Day Weekend was pretty heavily booked already. We thought that because of the the traffic heading for Vegas, etc. that it would just be best to do it the weekend after Presidents Holiday. Hopefully there is plenty of time for those that are working to request a couple of days off so you can attend.

Looking forward to seeing you in Death Valley, California! (Northwest of Las Vegas, NV)
