2027 Quartzsite Gathering - Feb 1-7 (20th Anniversary!)

The annual Quartzsite Arizona Gathering will be February 1st thru 7th, 2027 at Dome Rock or whenever you choose to arrive, come early or stay late your choice. This is the 20th Anniversary of the Quartzsite Gathering, how time flies! Once again this will be a "No Host" get together and everyone can do as they please, visit with friends, make new friends, ask questions, see mods, sit around a campfire, tell jokes, sing whatever you want to do! The town of Quartzsite is only 3 miles away and has pretty much all you need, gas, food, places to eat, dump facility, trash dump station, and lots of RV vendors. Come when you want and leave when you want, find a spot you like and set up camp. This is a total boondocking camping get together so come test out your boondocking skills! Best of all it is on BLM land and totally FREE and the most gorgeous  sunrises and sunsets you will see anywhere! The 2026 Gathering was a great success with about 100 trailers attending so 2027 should be a blast in the desert also. More to come when the dates get closer.

Changed the dates to Feb 1-7 to get away from the Super bowl Sunday and shortly after the end of the big tent show as some vendors start leaving shortly after the show. Mark your calendars!

It looks like we will be making our first Quartzsite trip next year along with other Casita friends we have met the past few years, it's only 1520 miles away!!

For those of us planning to participate in the 2027 and maybe even the 2028 gatherings, according to RVtravel.com Arizona DOT is planning an I-10 access overhaul on the west end of Quartzsite. Nothing to be alarmed about I suspect but something of which to be aware. Quartzsite I-10 Access Revamp - John

Thanks, John. Glad to read this.

The width of the bridge is the bottleneck, followed by west-bound off-ramp. Everything else seems to work fairly decently.

In reading the recent ADOT report, they intend to widen that bridge...again. Strange, since it's not that old. Maybe ten years? They widened the east bridge around that same time, and that one gets less traffic. Go figure.

 

BTW, Quartzsite was hit by a series of floods that went thru parts of Tyson Wells and, more recently, Silly Al's Pizza. They got it dried out, put down new flooring and are hoping to re-open on Sept 3rd. (Photos taken from Silly Al's Facebook webpage.)

Looking at Page 24 of the Public Meeting Summary, the anticipated timeline shows a construction start date of 1st Quarter of 2028.  Doesn't seem likely that this will impact the 2027 gathering at all, but I've been wrong before.
