Great River Road (Eastern States) Caravan with N Tx Casita Owners

who: owners or fans of fiberglass trailers

 

what: caravan down "the great river road", 5 eastern states

 

where: starting in wisconsin, ending in mississippi

 

when: the wisconsin portion will begin around oct 15, 2026. the schedule is flexible, but i anticipate at last 3-4 weeks to reach the end of the road in mississippi

 

how: meet us anywhere along the road. we'll also have opportunities to explore the 5 states somewhat as we travel south. we'll secure campgrounds/boondocking sites as we proceed so flexibility & feeling comfortable with boondocking is necessary to enjoy the trip. pm me for details if interested. safe travels, y'all

i wish...no, i did the 5 states on the west side of the mississippi river a couple of years ago. it was fantastic. i would routinely get off of "the road" to sightsee in those 5 states, then resume "the road" where i left off. thanks to retirement, i'm usually very flexible on scheduling, so i take my time to see & do whatever strikes my fancy. i'm looking forward to exploring "the road" in the 5 states east of the mississippi river this time & once again, i'll take extra time to explore the states themselves as i drive south..........

I have done some parts of the great river road on both sides but one day will dedicate the entire trip to its entirety. Just would be fun to camp with other fiberglass enthusiasts along the way.

I wish the roads actually skirted the river the whole way.

We loved driving along the bluffs. Seeing the barges on the Mighty Mississippi.

Lots of towns have nice parks next to the river.

be sure to post your plans online before the trip, vivian. i usually get a few inquiries/ responses from people, many can't do the entire road but more than willing to meet up along the way...i also am a member of a couple of solo female rv groups & enjoy meeting up with them as well
